A 76-year-old woman contracted hepatitis at a New York medical facility. As a result she suffered from liver damage, nausea, appetite loss, weakness and depression. The matter settled before litigation was undertaken.
The matter was complicated by the death of the injured woman (unrelated to the disease) after the settlement was agreed upon but before the documents were signed, and then the subsequent death overseas of one of her children who would share in her estate.
This matter was resolved in 2017.
